Business Patterns

Scope

Business patterns are templates of business objects and processes.

Office at Night by Edward Hopper

In modelling parlance they can use parameters, partitions or delegation, but, contrary to representation patterns, abstraction is to be understood in terms of subsets if the consistency and continuity of identities is to be maintained. Hence, the challenge is to provide a rigorous and non ambiguous description of core objects and activities, without second-guessing the design of system components. According to architecture driven modelling objectives, such a core should be limited to persistency and execution units and the associated dependencies.

Templates

  • Reservations: Allocation of exclusive and temporary use of durable physical resources.
  • Parties
  • Accounts: Orderly recording of monetary transactions between business entities legally identified.
  • Contracts
